As a Business Controller for Operations, you’ll empower our Plant management with crucial insights to steer the company effectively. You’ll analyze data, provide strategic advice, and optimize processes related to cost structure, efficiency, inventory, and seasonal planning. Your structured approach ensures a smooth budgeting process, and your ability to link information across systems is key.
You’ll join the Group Operations Finance & function, collaborating with both the Accounting and Control teams on company-wide projects, including cost control, investments, and Plant improvements. As a member of the Plant Management Team, you’ll play a vital role in driving (financial) performance.
We’re seeking a proactive, analytical, and organized individual who excels at both big-picture thinking and detailed execution. Your hands-on mentality and determination will help you achieve your goals, and your approachable nature will enable you to connect with both shop floor staff and management.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities involve?
You’ll juggle a variety of high-level tasks, including:
- Supporting Decision-Making: As a Business Controller for line management and executives within Operations, you will support decision-making processes to optimize performance based on analyses.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Addressing financial challenges, conducting analyses, and preparing associated reports. Month end accruals
- Weekly Performance Management: Reporting weekly on several factory KPIs
- Cost Price Structures: Monitoring market developments, calculating, and advising on cost price structures and cost price formation to internal departments.
- Advising on Financial Performance: Advising executives and the management team on potential improvements to financial performance (margins, cost price analyses, as well as working capital and invested capital) based on analyses.
- Process Optimization: Analyzing internal financial processes and proposing optimizations, improvements, or standardizations, and implementing and maintaining them after approval.
- Budget and Forecast Management: Managing and organizing the Operations budget and forecasting process and preparing and discussing monthly reports.
- Project Involvement: Working on (company-wide) projects and initiating them as needed, related to cost control, investments, and improvements within the Plant. Multi-disciplinary projects in the field of accounting & reporting, business governance, IT around inventory management is a current example.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a proactive, high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. If this sounds like you, you’ll likely have:
- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Economics with a financial focus.
- At least a minimum of 5+ years of financial work experience in relevant positions following your studies, experience in manufacturing would be a plus.
- Experience with cost price analyses, contribution margin results, margin mix analyses, working capital improvement, investment analyses.
- Sharp analytical skills, with the ability to analyze problems from a broad perspective and organizational sensitivity.
- Excellent advisory skills, persistence, and persuasive power. Ability to work across many levels, from shop floor to senior executive management.
- Extensive experience with Excel, data analysis, business cases, and scenario analysis. PowerBI experience and interest would be an asset.
- The ability to quickly learn new tools and processes is highly valued.
- Fluent in Dutch and business proficiency in English.
