What’s the job all about?

As a Process Engineer Production, you’ll be pivotal in optimizing production processes within our Heerenveen Manufacturing Unit. This role is essential to help team leaders improve and streamline production operations, thereby enhancing efficiency and contributing to Accell Group’s larger objectives of cost savings, revenue growth, and production quality. You’ll develop and implement process improvements, prioritize initiatives, and foster continuous improvement throughout the team.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities involve? 

In this role, you’ll manage a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Process Analysis: Identifying and analyzing areas for improvement in production processes, formulating proposals, and facilitating root cause investigations to boost operational efficiency (OEE).
  • Process Mapping: Documenting and analyzing key production processes to uncover improvement opportunities and align them with theoretical and practical research findings.
  • Collaboration: Engaging with Supply Chain colleagues, Production Leaders, Team Leaders, R&D, and suppliers to evaluate and implement suggested improvements pragmatically.
  • Continuous Improvement: Initiating improvement projects using Lean methodologies, coaching production employees through changes, and leading cross-departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Project Management: Coordinating project plans, leading improvement sprints, managing project teams, and ensuring project deliverables are met, with regular progress reporting to stakeholders.
  • Advisory: Providing insights on improvement prioritization, resource planning, and standardization of business processes, as well as advising supervisors and management on professionalizing production operations.
  • Performance Development: Collaborating in shaping performance management structures and driving continuous improvement policies across the Manufacturing Unit.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual with a strong background in production and process engineering who thrives in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum MBO degree in a technical field or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production, process engineering, or technical production roles.
  • Preferred to have experience with Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt certification), RCA, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, as well as effective leadership and initiative in project settings.
  • The ability to learn new tools and processes quickly, and a pragmatic approach to managing production-focused improvement initiatives.
