Reliability Engineer

As a Reliability Engineer, you are responsible for the reliability and quality of our bicycles, components and accessories. Do you aspire that all our bicycles hit the road safely and exceed customer expectations? Then this job is for you!

About the role
As a Reliability Engineer, you will work with all types of bicycles and their corresponding components and accessories. Your task is to predict, assess, and test the safety and functionality of the products under all (un)foreseen conditions. You have a keen eye for reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction, considering factors such as user profiles, mechanical stresses, environmental- and chemical influences, etc. You identify and predict problems, think in terms of risks and solutions, always with the goal of delivering a safe and reliable bicycle (component). "The voice of the customer" is central to this process. You will work in a dedicated team of Compliance, Reliability & Testing (CRT & Research), focusing on optimizing the lifecycle of our brands with the customer at the center. Your responsibilities include:

  • Determining and verifying product specifications during NPI (New Product Introduction) projects for design/prototypes/concepts to ensure the operational reliability and safety of the end products within set product specifications and timelines;
  • Drafting test protocols and reliability processes in consulting with Compliance-, Test Engineers;
  • Initiating and guiding complex tests and developing relevant test setups within CRT test facilities or external test facilities;
  • Providing support in collecting and analyzing (field) data for decision-making and test protocols;
  • Conducting risk analyses such as FMECA or RCA and making predictions based on failure rates;
  • Evaluating and documenting (external) reports, documents, and findings.

Qualifications
You have a broad technical but especially critical perspective on safety and reliability. You work accurately and independently, but you also collaborate with various departments within the organization. You regularly meet colleagues at other locations, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Good communication skills, customer orientation, and a proactive attitude are therefore essential. Additionally, we would like to see the following in your profile:

  • A completed HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or combined;
  • Knowledge and work experience with various tools for reliability, statistics, risk assessment, and analyses;
  • Knowledge of mechanical, chemical, and environmental tests such as temperature, corrosion, vibrations, UV, and IP tests;
  • Familiarity with quality requirements and current standards and regulations for relevant products;
  • Knowledge of production methods, materials, measurement techniques, and testing methods.
